भारतीय समाज में विवाह बहुत महत्वपूर्ण माना जाता है, जिसमें सिर्फ दो आत्माएं नहीं बल्कि दो परिवारों का भी मिलन होता है। विवाह से जुड़े रीति-रिवाजों को बहुत अहम माना गया है, जिसकी रस्में शादी से 4-5 दिन पहले ही शुरू हो जाती है। हर रस्म के पीछे कोई ना कोई मान्यता भी जुड़ी हुई है लेकिन बदलते समय के साथ-साथ शादी-ब्याह में निभाए जाने वाली अनुष्ठान व परंपराएं भी बदल रही हैं। इसकी साफ-साफ उदाहरण है बॉलीवुड दुल्हनें जिन्हें कई रिवाजों को अलग रूप से निभाकर एक ट्रेंड सेट किया।
शादी के रिवाजों में उनके किए ये बदलाव ना सिर्फ सकारात्मक नजरिया पेश करती हैं बल्कि पितृसत्तात्मक समाज में औरतों को निम्न और मर्दों के कंट्रोल में रहने वाले मैसेज को भी चुनौती दी। आज हम आपको बॉलीवुड की कुछ ऐसी ही एक्ट्रेस के बारे में बताने जा रहे हैं, जिन्होंने सालों से चली आ रही मान्यताओं को तोड़ते हुए दुनिया को बताया कि शादी में दो दिलों का मिलना जरूरी है, रस्मों-रिवाजों का नहीं....
कैटरीना कैफ-विक्की कौशल
सबसे पहले बात करते हैं बॉलीवुड एक्ट्रेस कैटरीना कैफ की जो साल 2021 के आखिरी में एक्टर विक्की कौशल के साथ शादी के बंधन में बंधी। विककैट अपनी रॉयल शादी को लेकर खूब चर्चा में रहें। हालांकि उन्होंने अपनी शादी को प्राइवेट रखा लेकिन बाद में सोशल मीडिया के जरिए उन्होंने खुद फैंस के साथ खुशखबरी शेयर की। दोनों की दुल्हा-दुल्हन के लुक में बहुत खूबसूरत लग रहे थे लेकिन कैटरीन की ब्राइडल एंट्री में कुछ अलग देखने को मिला।

दीया मिर्जा-वैभव रेखी
बॉलीवुड एक्ट्रेस दीया मिर्जा ने बिजनेसमैन वैभव रेखी से 15 फरवरी को शादी रचाई। दीया ने भी अपनी शादी के जरिए समाज को एक खास मैसेज दिया। दरअसल, दीया की शादी में मंत्र-फेरे करवाने के लिए पुरुष नहीं बल्कि महिला पुरोहित को बुलाया गया था। इसके जरिए दीया ने अपनी शादी में लैंगिक रूढ़िवादिता को भी तोड़ा। यही नहीं, उन्होंने शादी की दो अहम रस्में 'कन्यादान' और 'विदाई' भी नहीं की। इससे उन्होंने लोगों को यह संदेश दिया कि अब बेटियां अपने माता-पिता पर बोझ नहीं है।

I had never seen a woman performing a wedding ceremony until I attended my childhood friend Ananya’s wedding a few years ago. Ananya’s wedding gift to Vaibhav and me was to bring Sheela Atta who is her aunt and also a priestess, to perform the ceremony for us. She also painstakingly went through several hours of training to imbibe the essence of the scriptures so that she could assist Sheela Atta and translate the shlokas! It was such a privilege and a joy to be married this way! We do hope with all our heart that many more couples make this choice. For it is a woman's soul that contains love, wonder, benediction, magical energy, tenderness and deep empathy for all that lives. It is time for women to own their own agency, their divinity, their power and to redefine what is old and birth what is new. As Charles Bukowski said, "there is no lie in their fire." So what can be more uplifting and empowering than to see the sacred fire within a woman's heart and soul taking centre stage at a wedding? I am still overwhelmed by the magic of this one moment.
